Privacy Policy

Introduction


In the course of fulfilling its mission of teaching, learning and scholarship, Pacific employs a variety of record keeping systems and collects and uses a variety of information associated with its past, present and future faculty, staff, alumni, students and other Pacific community members. In addition to observing all applicable privacy and confidentiality laws, Pacific respects and protects individual privacy through a Master Privacy Policy and a series of Privacy Policy Addendums.

This Privacy Policies Addendum is specific information and services described below.

Definitions


1. Personally Identifiable Information
The University of the Pacific provides selective Personally Identifiable Information about Alumni to the iModules Software Company in conjunction with the web-based TigerTrack service, for the purpose of providing Alumni directory and messaging services.

This information includes:

E-mail
Class Year
Degrees & Dates
Schools Attended
Alumni School Occupation
Company Name
Job Title
Business Address
Business Phone Number
Business E-mail
Gender
Date of Birth

Alumni have the opportunity to opt-out of TigerTrack by contacting the Pacific Alumni Association at pacificalumni@pacific.edu or 1-866-575-7229. If you opt out of the TigerTrack system you forfeit your access to TigerTrack.

2. iModules
iModules Software company builds hosted, web-based solutions for member organizations to manage and grow private online communities between its members. iModules has been selected to develop the TigerTrack web-based service for Pacific’s Alumni Association.

3. Authorize.net
Authorize.Net is a service of Lightbridge, Inc., manages the submission of payment transactions to the processing networks on behalf of its merchant customers.

4. TigerTrack
TigerTrack refers to all parts of the website which are User ID and password protected, including the alumni directory, alumni profiles, message boards, class notes, mentor database and online chat.

System/Service Summary


The Pacific Alumni Association contracts with iModules for the Alumni Association website to present a web-based system for an alumni directory, message boards, class notes, mentor database, online chat and event management.


Intended Use


The Pacific Alumni Association maintains the alumni website, provided by iModules, for the purpose of facilitating interaction between alumni and helping alumni keep their records current for the University database. The TigerTrack system is user ID and password protected and may only be accessed by authenticated alumni of the University of Pacific and approved University staff. Users are responsible for the use of their name and password to gain access to TigerTrack and for the use of their information as a result of such access. Users acknowledge that responsibility and agree not to share their password with any other person.

SPECIAL NOTICE: If you do not register for TigerTrack, and have not otherwise designated your University Database record as private, your First Name, Last Name and class year will be published by default.

Alumni who have registered to the TigerTrack system will have access to information in the directory but may not use the information they obtain for commercial or political purposes, promotions, advocacy or any other purpose, business or otherwise except to facilitate individual personal communication or business of the University of the Pacific.

Security


The University of the Pacific has many technical, administrative and physical security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under Pacific’s control. Detailed security information of the iModules service can be found on the iModules web site.

The University of the Pacific has partnered with iModules in order to provide a web-based Alumni Directory Service to the Pacific community. Many of the provisions contained in this Statement are based upon representations made by iModules. While the University of the Pacific believes that iModules is a valuable service to the Pacific community, iModules is not affiliated with the University of the Pacific. Therefore, Pacific can not guarantee, nor does it otherwise accept responsibility for, any portion of this Statement that depends upon iModules’ representations and its compliance with those representations.

Policy Changes


The University reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy Addendum from time to time without prior notice or consent, but if changes are made, that fact will be prominently and widely communicated to the associated information providers. In the event that information is gathered online, a change history for the Privacy Policy Addendum will be maintained off the Privacy Statement link on each page that gathers such information.
