A Letter from Bill Coen, Executive Director of the Pacific Alumni Association


You’ve seen the pictures.  You may have heard of the brick program. And now we are less than $400,000 away from realizing the dream of an alumni house on the University of the Pacific campus. The donors are lining up with their support. Now you can help us raise the roof!

The Pacific Alumni Association Board of Directors, a group of committed alumni volunteers, wants me to communicate to all alumni the importance of stepping up and finding a way to donate to the facility. When we reach our goal, the Alex and Jeri Vereschagin Alumni House will be the first campus building project to be funded entirely by alumni gifts. 

The Alex and Jeri Vereschagin Alumni House will be a special place reserved for alumni. Pacific’s wonderful history will be on display throughout the building; in the library, foyer and in display cases. Alumni will be able to visit the library and view our collection of Naranjado yearbooks and old editions of campus newspapers. The museum quality displays will feature pictures and stories of student life through the ages. 

Alumni will have access and use privileges of the new facility, including conference and meeting rooms, and reception and outdoor event spaces. The operations and business plan for the building is being developed with alumni in mind – both individuals and groups of alumni. The facility will host a variety of alumni functions, including meetings and official events and activities of the Pacific Alumni Association that will be open to all alumni and guests. Parties anyone?

The Alex and Jeri Vereschagin Alumni House will also serve as a symbol to the entire Pacific community that our alumni are engaged and supportive of the University. It will help bolster campus traditions and school pride. Everyday Pacific students and faculty will pass the building and be reminded of the alumni presence in the campus community.

Consider making your donation to the Alumni House Campaign today! We are extremely close to reaching our goal and your gift can help us finally “Raise the Roof” on the Alumni House! The Alumni Brick campaign is structured so that every alumnus and alumna can participate in the funding of the facility and leave a lasting legacy on the University of the Pacific campus.

Brick Campaign Details:

Ø      Bricks are only $1,000
Ø      Brick pledges can be paid over a 5-year period (monthly, quarterly, or yearly payments)
Ø      Each brick can be personalized with your name, class year and/or affiliation
Ø      Alumni bricks will be placed in the Alumni Plaza at the entrance of the Alex and Jeri Vereschagin Alumni House
